Sri Lanka has a wide variety of marine creatures and varied bio diversities over reefs and shipwrecks. This Southwest itinerary offers the opportunity to experience everything from the illusive Blue whale and whale shark schools to historical shipwrecks. Our shallow sandstone/limestone coral reefs constantly influenced by mineral rich river outflows have their own unique beauty and ecosystem. Mirissa is popular as one of the largest fishing ports and is known for its mullets, tuna, snapper and whale watching tours. Further north lie the towns of Unawatuna and Galle, offering many holiday activities and are known for their coral reefs and palm-lined beaches.

Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 - Saturday (Arrival Mirissa)
Refreshments served while checking in followed by Captain and Dive Manager briefings. Dive briefings will be given before each dive by our dive team. 15:00 - Check in & Boat briefing 16:00 - Cruise to Jungle Beach (2hrs) 19:30 - Dinner onboard
Day 2 - Sunday (Galle)
07:00 - Dive 1 at SS Rangoon (30m) - A scenic dive site through the wreck, though deteriorated, with parts of the hull, stern, crow's nest, mast scattered about. Shoals of resident banded grunts and blue-striped snappers swim about with medium sized groupers that hide within the wreck. 08:30 - Breakfast, Cruise to site 2 10:00 - Dive 2 at SS Orestes (24m) - A skeleton of an iron wreck with massive shoals of big-eye trevally and giant groupers. 12:00 - Lunch 13:30 - Dive 3 at Jungle Beach or Goda Gala reef (8-26m) 14:30 - Tour of Galle City - The city of Galle in the 16th century was the main port on the island. Galle fort is a World Heritage Site and is the largest remaining fortress in Asia built by European occupiers. Comprehensive chauffeur guided city tour approximately 3-4 hours covering key historical sites including the Lighthouse, Dutch Reformed Church, and local markets. 16:30 - Cruise to Mirissa (2hrs) 19:30 - BBQ Dinner on Weligama Beach
Day 3 - Monday (Departure Mirissa)
05:30 - Whale Watching Cruise 07:30 - Breakfast 08:30 - Swimming, paddle boarding 12:00 - Lunch 13:00 - Checkout from Boat 13:30 - Dropoff to airport Note: Itinerary subject to changes depending on weather, currents and monsoon.
