About us
A Sri Lankan tour operator that builds one trip at a time
Based in Ratmalana, Colombo. Private tours only — no fixed departures, no shared coaches.
One Sri Lanka is a Sri Lankan-owned inbound tour operator based in Ratmalana, Colombo, running fully private, tailor-made tours across the island. Every itinerary is built for a single group and priced per person per day across three tiers — Silver $270, Gold $390, Platinum $640 — rather than sold as a fixed package.

What "tailor-made" actually means here
Most Sri Lanka holidays sold abroad are fixed-departure group tours: a coach, a set route, twenty strangers, and a schedule nobody can change. We do not run those. Every One Sri Lanka trip is built for one group — you, your family, or your friends — and nobody else joins it.
The itineraries published on this site are starting points, not products. Nearly every enquiry we receive results in something different from the page it started on: a day removed because the client would rather spend longer in the hills, a beach stay extended, a temple swapped for a national park, an arrival shifted to suit a long-haul flight landing at 02:00.
That flexibility is the whole reason a local operator exists. We are in Sri Lanka, we know which roads are slow in which month, which sites are unbearable at midday, and which "must-see" stops are worth skipping. A booking platform three time zones away cannot tell you that.
How the three tiers work
Silver, Gold and Platinum are not three different holidays. They are the same itinerary at three levels of accommodation and transport, and they are priced per person per day rather than as fixed packages — so a 7-day trip and a 14-day trip are quoted from the same daily rate.
This matters when you compare quotes. A fixed package price tells you nothing about what happens when you want to add two days. Our structure means the answer is simply the daily rate, twice.
| Tier | Per person per day | Accommodation | Transport |
|---|---|---|---|
| Silver | $270 | Comfortable standard hotels and guesthouses | Private air-conditioned vehicle with driver-guide |
| Gold | $390 | Superior hotels, boutique properties | Private air-conditioned vehicle, premium class |
| Platinum | $640 | Luxury 5-star hotels and resorts | Private premium vehicle, VIP site access |
What every tour includes
Because the price is per day rather than per component, almost everything is inside it. There is no drip of surcharges once you arrive.
- All meals — breakfast, lunch, dinner, plus tea, coffee and snacks on the road
- Accommodation at your chosen tier, twin or double occupancy
- A private air-conditioned vehicle for the entire trip, airport arrival to airport departure
- A professional English-speaking driver-guide (other languages on request)
- Entry tickets to every attraction listed in your itinerary
- 24/7 support from your guide and our Colombo office throughout the trip
What is not included
Being explicit about exclusions is more useful than a long inclusions list. These are the things you will pay for separately:
- International flights to and from Colombo (CMB)
- Travel insurance — we strongly recommend it and will not book without you having cover
- Sri Lanka ETA visa fee (roughly $35–$50 depending on nationality; check eta.gov.lk for the current figure)
- Personal spending, alcoholic drinks, and tips
- Optional extras such as hot-air ballooning, spa treatments, or diving certification courses
Frequently Asked Questions
- Is One Sri Lanka a local company or an overseas booking agent?
- We are Sri Lankan-owned and Sri Lanka-based, with our office in Ratmalana, just south of Colombo. You are dealing directly with the operator running your trip, not a reseller passing your booking to a third party. That is why we can adjust an itinerary mid-trip if the weather turns or you simply want an extra day somewhere.
- Will I be sharing the tour with other travellers?
- No. Every One Sri Lanka tour is private. Your vehicle, your driver-guide and your itinerary are yours alone, whether you are travelling solo, as a couple, or as a group of twelve. We do not run fixed-departure group tours at all.
- How far in advance should I book?
- For travel during the December–March peak on the west and south coasts, six to eight weeks ahead is sensible, mainly because the better hotels fill up. Outside peak season two to three weeks is usually enough. We have arranged trips at a few days notice, though hotel choice narrows sharply.
- How do payments work?
- A 60% deposit confirms your booking and lets us hold hotels; the remaining 40% is due seven days before you arrive. We accept Visa, Mastercard and international bank transfer in USD. You will receive a written itinerary and cost breakdown before any money changes hands.
- What languages can guides speak?
- All our guides work in English. Sinhala and Tamil are native. Guides working in other languages — including German, French, Russian, Mandarin and Japanese — can usually be arranged with enough notice, though availability is tighter in peak season and it is worth asking early.
